How to prepare for a trail?
Trail start: At the “Tatrzańska Polanka” station (49.123275, 20.185355), where there is a parking lot and an electric train stop (Elektriczka). It is a convenient starting point for the green trail leading through the Wielicka Valley.
Total time: About 4 hours and 20 minutes for the round trip of 10.7 km. The ascent to Śląski Dom takes less than 2 hours, making the hike achievable even with limited time.
What to bring:
Comfortable trekking shoes to ensure stability on various surfaces. Snacks and water to enjoy during breaks on the trail. Warm meals are available at the shelter, but it’s a good idea to bring something in case hunger strikes earlier. A camera or phone to capture the views.
