Starting the Journey – Kuźnice
Our hike begins in picturesque Kuźnice, a district of Zakopane, located just 10 minutes by bus from the city center. Kuźnice is the starting point for many mountain adventures, and from here, we head towards the trail leading to Kasprowy Wierch. The path initially is comfortable and pleasant, running alongside the Bystra stream, with the sound of water accompanying us through most of the first part of the journey.
It’s worth noting that Kasprowy Wierch is often crowded, especially with tourists using the cable car. Therefore, if you don’t want to spend hours waiting in line, hiking on foot will be a more rewarding option, giving you the chance to fully enjoy the beauty of the mountain scenery. It’s also how you’ll feel the true magic of the Tatras.

The Forest and Kasprowa Valley
After a few minutes of walking, we enter the forest. This section is peaceful, leading us through the Bystra Valley and then into Kasprowa Valley. As we continue, the trail begins to incline more sharply. Nonetheless, walking amidst tall trees and the sound of the stream makes this part of the hike very enjoyable. Occasionally, you’ll hear the sounds of birds singing and the rustling of leaves, which helps you forget the passage of time.

Myślenickie Turnie – A Rest at 1360 m above sea level
After about an hour of walking, we reach Myślenickie Turnie, where we find the intermediate station of the cable car. This is a perfect spot to take a short break and enjoy the view of the Kondratowa Valley and the Giewont massif. It’s also a great opportunity to look at the tourists waiting in long lines for the cable car. At this point, it’s a good time to feel proud that we’re already on our way to the summit!
The Path to the Summit – Higher and Clearer Views
After resting, we continue our hike. The next part of the trail leads through the forest, and the path becomes narrower and steeper. On this section, we’ll encounter stone steps that will guide us through the mountain pine zone. As we climb higher, we begin to notice how the landscape around us is changing. We can now clearly see Giewont, Czerwone Wierchy, and Zawrat Kasprowy. With each step, the satisfaction of reaching the highest point of this part of the Tatras grows.
The Final Stretch – From the Alpine Meadows to the Summit
The higher we go, the more challenging, but also more beautiful the path becomes. The final stretch leads us through the grassy slopes of Kasprowy Wierch, above the Goryczkowa Valley. Suddenly, we are surrounded by wide alpine meadows, and the views open up to reveal the entire western and eastern Tatras. After 2 hours and 30 minutes of hiking, we reach the summit – Kasprowy Wierch. Despite the crowds at the top, the panorama before us makes all the effort worthwhile. From Kasprowy Wierch, you can see Świnica, Kościelec, and Kozi Wierch. The panoramic views are some of the most stunning in the Tatras and will stay in your memory for a long time.
In Conclusion
From the top of Kasprowy Wierch, you can enjoy the view of the Tatras, and as a reward, a visit to the lower cable car station, where you may be surprised by the crowds of tourists trying to find shade while waiting for their ride. But you, on the other hand, will be making your way back down to Kuźnice, feeling proud of your successful adventure to the summit of Kasprowy Wierch!
