The Adventure Begins – Kuźnice

Our journey starts in Kuźnice, a district of Zakopane, where the air already feels distinctly mountain-like. This is the perfect spot to begin our adventure. To get to Kuźnice, we can take a convenient bus (about 5-10 minutes from the center of Zakopane) because the road is closed to private cars. From Kuźnice, we follow the blue trail along a gentle path through forested areas towards Polana Kalatówki. Although the first part may seem monotonous, it enchants with its beauty. Polana Kondratowa – The Hut and a Glimpse of History

From Polana Kalatówki, we continue towards Polana Kondratowa, where another section of the trail takes us through the forest. Here we will come across one of the most atmospheric mountain huts in the Tatras – the Schronisko na Polanie Kondratowa. This hut was built in 1935, and in 1953, after a massive boulder fell and partially destroyed the building, it experienced a sort of renaissance. It’s one of the smaller huts, adding to its charm. From this point, you’ll enjoy wonderful views of Giewont and Kasprowy Wierch, which will accompany us for most of the hike.
